First Testing of PupPod Prototype

We've been busy making substantial progress with the PupPod hardware and had a chance to test our latest PupPod prototype at WeWork in Seattle last week*. We are getting much closer to the architecture that we'll make available on Kickstarter.

Our second PupPod prototype was based on spark core processors communicating over WiFi and a Treat & Train dispenser. This was a great prototype for refining our concept with the dogs, but had some limitations including limited battery life and limited connectivity among others. Obviously, we felt these were significant problems that we wanted to improve upon for our new PupPod prototype.

The latest PupPod prototype uses a completely new architecture. We're now using Bluetooth for local communication, which will provide much better battery life. We are also experimenting with the Pet Tutor for the treat dispenser. Lastly, we've moved to a more powerful processor on the console board that will allow us to add some interesting functionality. Stay tuned!

*This post was originally published in April 2015.  Thus, the PupPod has evolved beyond even the technology presented in this article and video.  PupPod is always striving to make improvements and provide a toy that will give your dog both physical and mental enrichment for years to come.  Thank you for your interest in PupPod.  We hope you will take the time to learn more about our technology by reading some of the more recent articles in our PupBlog.
