5/5 stars! Our shepherd mix, 10-week old puppy loves mental engagement and gets bored easily. He also inhales his food in seconds. We got PupPod to give his brain something to focus on and slow down the pace of his eating.
The game has exceeded our hopes and expectations! PupPod keeps our puppy entertained and occupied for hours each day. It slowed down his pace of eating and even gave us back time each day. The best part: he's super tired and ready for a potty break and a nap after each meal. We are going to feed Larry his meals from PupPod forever!

Tico is highly vigilant and struggles with fear-reactivity. Toys like PupPod make Tico think and problem solve. Engaging Tico in mental stimulation like this on a daily basis has a long term positive effect. It doesn’t ‘fix’ him, but it makes our lives more enjoyable together.

I ordered PupPod because Sunny has terrible separation anxiety, and I’m starting to go back to work and have to leave her at home more often than I’d like. I wanted to have something to keep her from getting bored while I’m away. I’m very pleased with my purchase, and Sunny is as well!

Oliver had to have major knee surgery that required physical activity restrictions and controlled exercises. We were able to use the PupPod to provide just the right amount of activity during his recovery. We gradually set the PupPod toy further and further away from the dispenser as he healed.

We’re looking to help create mathletes, not just athletes. It’s important to push their brain. It forces the dog to think outside the box. So now you have a smarter dog, not one that is just faster or stronger.

Will my dog destroy the Rocker? How rugged is it?
Because the PupPod Rocker does not have food in it, we almost never see dogs try to destroy the toy once they learn that the toy is the mechanism for earning rewards. Most dogs try to destroy plastic puzzle games because they smell like food, so once the food is gone, their reward is to destroy the toy. But since PupPod just smells like plastics and electronics, they have very little to no incentive to destroy it.
In addition, because rewards come from the feeder, dogs are constantly being redirected to eat the rewards, so they tend not to get obsessed with the Rocker.

Will my dog get fat?
You have total control of how long your dog plays. You can start and stop the game from the anywhere using the PupPod mobile app.
If you feed normal meals with PupPod, your dog is getting the same calories per meal, but way more exercise. Dogs can walk up to a mile indoors at each meal by spreading the feeder and toy apart in a living room or hallway. You can even put the toy and feeder at opposite ends of a staircase to create a doggie Stairmaster.
For picky eaters, try shaking kibble in a bag with some treats to make the kibble more exciting and a few treats being dispensed will sometimes get a picky eater in eating mode.

What size rewards work best?
Uniform shapes (e.g. spherical) around 10mm +/- 2mm work best.
The feeder has a "rotor" wheel with pie shaped wedges that the food must fall through. The narrow width of the wedge is about 10mm and the widest width of the wedge is about 20mm. If you are using a uniform shape reward that's about 10mm wide, our testing saw approximately 1-4 rewards dispensing with an average of about 2.5. Smaller rewards may dispense more each time and larger rewards may dispense less. Non-uniform shapes (e.g. long and thin) may dispense inconsistently due to the orientation of the shape over the rotor's hole.

How long do the batteries last?
Two D-size batteries should last more than three months with daily usage of more than an hour. You can use rechargeable batteries too, like these.
-
Can multiple dogs play at the same time?
Yes, as long as there's no food aggression or resource guarding. Please supervise your dogs until you are comfortable with their play style.
-
How does the game get harder?
Dogs earn rewards for touching the Rocker within a few seconds of specific sound or light "cues". The PupPod mobile app allows you to vary the type, timing, and sequence of cues, so your dog has to concentrate and problem solve to earn their rewards. This page has a video and description of each level.
-
Can I just check on my dog and manually dispense a reward?
Yes. Just use the "Watch and Treat" feature in the app to start the video camera and manually dispense a reward.
